A short drive-by post today to deliver two quick announcements, both of which I think are quite exciting!

The first is that my bookmark project is finally off the loom and these are now live on Etsy! Head on over to my shop if you are interested in snagging one (or two, or three) for yourself and your closest friends. My warp was long enough to make 28 bookmarks total and I have a variety of different designs to choose from.

These are made with 40/2 linen as the warp, and 20/2 mercerized cotton as the weft. The linen really shines after a nice press with the iron and I love the way it sets off the pattern. At 48 ends per inch, I was able to pack in quite a bit of detail with 120 threads in the warp and I love how they came out.

Each bookmark is 2.25 inched wide about 6 inches long, with an additional inch of fringe on either end. These were so much fun to design and weave! They would also make fantastic gifts for friends and family who love getting lost in a good book.
The second announcement is really more for my own personal documentation of this journey, but after nearly eight years of corporate life in regulatory compliance for one of the largest banks in the United States, I made the decision a few weeks ago to say goodbye to regulations and finances in pursuit of a slower pace of life and a more local existence. This past Friday was my last day of work, and this will translate to a lot more activity here for Spring Creek Textiles as I work to expand my brand and offerings. I have a whole lot of plans for what the future will look like so I hope you stick around to see where we go!
Thank you all for being here, and I hope you’re having a fantastic July.
